Writers as Readers
When I read I always sit on the old couch in my house. The corner is perfect because it has the best side table, and it's a fairly isolated place. I can't read in bed anymore, because I will ended up falling asleep and losing my place. The couch is located in the sunroom in my house, which is a bright window filled room off the kitchen. During the day, the room is bright and books are easy to read. At night, I used the best lamp in the house to read. It casts just enough light so I can read the pages, but still keeps the room dark and cozy.
I have a million favorite books. Right now, I'm obsessed with The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare. I love how descriptive see is. I can always picture the exact scene and characters as I read. I also love the entire world she designed. Unfortunately, the movie and TV adaptations for any of the books have really sucked.
I've never been a Harry Potter person, but recently I've watched the movies and I thought they were pretty good.
I really like fantasy, romance, action/adventure, and nonfiction books. I honestly don't really like realistic fiction when its geared towards teens. I think it's boring.
