Color Association Poem

White is the color of deceptive weeds, growing as flowers

the color of a brides dress for that one special day
the color of the candle sitting on my desk.
White is the color of the puppies soft fur
the color of my favorite t-shirt, the one with the butterflies on it
White is the color of the trim around my favorite window at home
the empty pages of my sketch book
and the blank space of the canvas in front of me
White is the color of the twinkly lights around my room
the color of my first iPhone
the color I painted my vintage desk
White is the color of the knobs on my flea market jewelry box
and the color of my alarm clock
White is the color of the border of polaroid pictures
and the color of my parents wedding album
White is one of the colors sprinkling my grandmas flower reds
with mixes of red roses, pink tulips, yellow marigolds, and violet verbenas
White is the absence of color and a blank slate.
